In 2005, to mark the 50th anniversary of the GMT-Master, the GMT-Master II underwent a major model change, adopting a ceramic bezel—a first for Rolex. The Ref. 116710BLNR, featuring a black and blue bezel, was introduced in 2013 and was Rolex's first two-tone Cerachrom bezel. It was discontinued after a relatively short six-year run until a minor change was made in 2019. The Ref. 116710BLNR is a GMT-Master II with a black and blue Cerachrom bezel, commonly known as the "Batman," and a sporty Oyster bracelet. The suffix "BLNR" in the reference number refers to the bezel color, with "BL" standing for "Blue" and "NR" standing for "Lunette Noir" (Black) in French.
