The Cosmograph Daytona 6263 is a solid gold model produced early on in the history of the Ref. 6263, which could be considered the final reference for the manual-winding Daytona. In addition to the stainless steel models, three variations of the solid gold Ref. 6263 and Ref. 6265 have been confirmed. Its most distinctive feature is the English inscription at 12 o'clock. The early Mark I models have only "ROLEX OYSTER COSMOGRAPH" inscribed across three lines. In contrast, the Mark II has "COSMOGRAPH CRONOGRAPH" inscribed below the "ROLEX OYSTER" inscription with a small space between them, while the Mark III has "ROLEX OYSTER CHROMOGRAPH" inscribed at 12 o'clock and "COSMOGRAPH" inscribed on the inset dial at 6 o'clock. Furthermore, there are even rarer early examples that feature a prototype chronograph crown lock pusher, which was discontinued after a short period of time and has a shallower and finer groove in the lock ring than the screw lock pusher equipped on the standard 6263.
