Jacob & Co.'s Caviar Tourbillon Black Spinel is an iconic piece of art that combines high jewellery and fine watchmaking. The design was inspired by a freshly opened tin of caviar. The entire case is covered in black spinel, resembling the densely packed grains of caviar, recreating a smooth, continuous surface.
The 47mm case is paved with 224 baguette-cut black spinels in an invisible setting, the crown is set with 16 spinels and a large rose-cut, and the dial is lined with a further 130 baguette-cut gems in a concentric circle, for a total of 424 sparkling gems.
The caliber JCAA43 is a high-end movement with a one-minute flying tourbillon, embodying the duality of Jacob & Co., combining a jewelry-like appearance with a genuine mechanical complication.
